San Antonio

We went to San Antonio this weekend for the RNR-San Antonio Marathon. I went into this wondering if my ankle would hold up over the long mileage.....and it did with a little help from some NSAID's......I think I took enough to keep the inflammation in check and I was able to get through it in far better shape than 2 weeks ago. I finished around 5:16, which I was happy with, considering I was prepared for a 7 hour limpathon. The marathon was okay, but the destination was very nice. San Antonio is well worth visiting....here are some pictures from the weekend....the riverwalk, the Alamo, Mission Concepcion, and Mission San Jose....

Doug, congrats on your race in San Antonio, looks like a real interesting city.

If you want to train with a group , I run with the Olathe Running Club on Sat mornings. We meet at Oregon Trail at 7am and either run around Lake Olathe or some people go a shorter route. Come on out, we'd be glad to have you.

....that is less than a mile from my house. I may run up there this weekend if my ankle allows and check it out. Thanks.

Congrats, Doug, & sorry to hear about the ankle injury! Kim just mentioned your 50 state quest, how many have you hit at this point?

The ankle is improving so it was not as bad as I originally dreaded. I have 33 states down and 18 to go (DC makes 51). We are doing South Carolina in December so that will be a new one. Unfortunately, I keep repeating states too often and I am not getting done as fast as I would like.
